Autumn 2012 Campaign // The Ripple Effect
Thank you to each of you who helped us surpass our goal of raising $20,000 this autumn. We are pleased to share that, with your contributions, we raised $23,514 in our Ripple Effect campaign. We appreciate your generosity as we seek to further extend our ripple effect. Your funds will be used to advance our 2013 programs: Global Engagement Expeditions, Global Catalysts Program, and the Global Philanthropy Summit. Our contributors believe in our mission and ensure the financial health of our organization and advancement of our mission. We invite you to invest in Allowance for Good and future global citizens by supporting our operating expenses. We appreciate your commitment to build the next generation of engaged givers and global citizens.

IN HER OWN WORDS "I had an amazing experience at the 2012 Global Philanthropy Summit. My eyes were opened to the real world of philanthropy, and I now see how accessible it is in everyday life. Not only did I learn about realistic change in the world, but I also got to be part of the GPS family--twenty wonderful teens and the Allowance For Good team. I will definitely continue to embrace global philanthropy, and I hope to influence others to do the same."  Anna, 2012 GPS participant |

WHO WE ARE Allowance for Good is a network of US teens that partner together to improve the lives of youth living in poverty globally by investing in their educational potential. Allowance for Good was established in the summer of 2010 to cultivate a culture of giving and to inspire a ripple of change among American youth to become the next generation of engaged global givers and citizens. The organization teaches participants that meaningful, thoughtful, and even small contributions of time and treasure to the needs of international communities can broaden their perspectives of the world and help make a difference in the education systems of developing countries. Allowance for Good aims to reach students of all socioeconomic backgrounds and demonstrate that participating as a global citizen is not bound by income, race, or culture. We call participants Young Catalysts because we believe in their power to affect change in international education. Through this process of learning, connecting, and actualization, Allowance for Good seeks to teach Young Catalysts humility, to promote their respect for other cultures and the challenges they face, and to instill among them commitment to long-term, high-impact philanthropy. |
